Prevailing In Prayer

Samuel Chadwick said, “There is no power like that of prevailing prayer of Abraham pleading for Sodom, Jacob wrestling in the stillness of the night, Moses standing in the breach, Hannah intoxicated with sorrow, David heartbroken with remorse and grief, and Jesus in sweat of blood. Add to this list from the records of the church your personal observation and experience, and always there is the cost of passion unto blood. Such prayer prevails. It turns ordinary mortals into men of power. It brings power. It brings fire. It brings rain. It brings life. It brings God.”

This serves as a reminder to us, that prevailing prayer comes with a high cost. Let me tell you, anyone who says prayer is not hard work has never worked hard at prayer.  Sometimes we don’t feel like praying and there are times it is absolute agony to pray!

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:12,  “So then death worketh in us, but life in you.”

Now that is a powerful commentary on prayer! We live a dying life for Jesus that others might live! Body of Christ, the hour is late and we need to pray for the lost, our nation, our missionaries, and our families.
In closing, my challenge to you is will you prevail in prayer?

I would like to ask prayer for my sister’s husband, Steve; who is not a believer and had to be hospitalized for heart problems. Praying he will open his heart to the Lord.

    Thank you,
